Alum Bati is a British Barrister with over 20 years experience in law and tax consulting. He is the author of a number of books and articles on taxation and law. Alum is the Amsterdam-based International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation's correspondent in Azerbaijan and his other publications include articles for the British Tax Review, the CCH Journal of Asia Pacific Taxation and for the Nikkei Weekly. Alum co-authored the first edition of two standard works on UK taxation. He is a former Representative Director of Ernst & Young in Azerbaijan (having established its Baku office in 1993 and was, prior to that, British Petroleum's Regional Tax Manager for Japan and Korea (based in Tokyo).
